Sundial Film Festival
The Sundial Film Festival is an international film festival based in Redding, California, held annually at the historic Cascade Theatre. Now in its 18th year, the festival has become a cornerstone of arts and culture in the region, showcasing over 500 films created by talented filmmakers with connections to Northern California.
Dedicated to a filmmaker-first experience, the festival offers a full day of screenings, including both matinee and evening showings, and kicks off with an invitation-only pre-party gala the night before. Its lineup has featured early works from now-prominent creators such as Jeff Loveness, Eric Jacobus, and Will Lascelles, reinforcing the festival’s role as a launching pad for emerging talent.
Awards are given for “Best of” in each category, along with “Best of Festival,” and laurels for all official selections. The Sundial Film Festival continues to champion diverse storytelling, support local creators, and connect filmmakers with audiences who share a love for independent cinema.
